Our commitment
GenerationHealth.me aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.1 AA defines requirements for web content to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive.
What this looks like in practice
- Text on every page is resizable in your browser without loss of content or function.
- All interactive elements can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone.
- Images that convey information carry alt text describing what they show.
- Color combinations meet the minimum contrast ratio for readable text.
- Form fields are labeled and grouped so screen readers can announce them.
- Video and audio content (when we publish it) is captioned or transcribed.
We do not claim full conformance. Any large content site published continuously has gaps between commitment and implementation, and this one is no exception. Where we know of a specific accessibility issue we haven’t yet resolved, we log it and prioritize it.
