Our Mission & Scope

Our Mission & Editorial Scope

GenerationHealth.me publishes educational content designed to help North Carolina residents — and Medicare beneficiaries nationwide — understand their health insurance options, compare plans accurately, and make informed enrollment decisions.

Our site currently covers more than 140 pages across Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement (Medigap), Medicare Part D, ACA Marketplace plans, and county-specific Medicare guidance across North Carolina. All content is produced with the same standard: factual accuracy, plain language, and transparent sourcing.

We are an independent licensed Medicare and ACA insurance brokerage — not a government agency, carrier, or advertising platform. Our editorial content is not influenced by which carriers pay higher commissions or by advertising relationships. Carrier compensation is disclosed separately under our Licensing & Disclosures page.

Operator

GenerationHealth.me is operated by Robert Jason Simm, NC Insurance License #10447418, NPN #10447418, AHIP Certified 2026. Licensed to sell health insurance in North Carolina and Virginia. Verify at NCDOI.gov.

Content Creation Standards

How Our Content Is Created

Content on GenerationHealth.me is developed through a combination of practitioner expertise, official program documentation, and structured research. Every page reflects the real questions and decision points Rob Simm encounters working directly with Medicare beneficiaries in North Carolina.

Primary content development sources include:

  • Direct client advisory experience — the questions, concerns, and mistakes Rob sees weekly across Medicare and ACA enrollment
  • Official CMS program guidance, Medicare & You handbooks, and annual plan data releases
  • Plan-year Landscape Files and county-level Medicare Advantage enrollment data published by CMS
  • NC Department of Insurance Medigap rate filings and carrier contract data
  • Carrier Summary of Benefits, Evidence of Coverage documents, and formulary files
  • Provider directory data, including NPI registry verification for network accuracy claims

County-specific content — including our Mecklenburg, Durham, Wake, Guilford, Forsyth, Buncombe, and Orange County pages — incorporates local health system context (Atrium Health, Novant Health, Duke Health, UNC Health, WakeMed, Mission Health) verified against CMS landscape data and current carrier network files for the relevant plan year.

4
Authoritative Sources

Sources We Prioritize

GenerationHealth.me cites primary government and regulatory sources for all factual claims about Medicare costs, enrollment periods, plan rules, and coverage standards. We do not rely on secondary aggregators or content farms for factual health insurance data.

CMS.gov

Medicare program parameters, Part B/D premium data, MA and Part D landscape files, ANOC/EOC requirements. cms.gov

Medicare.gov

Official plan comparison tools, coverage rules, enrollment period guidance, Medicare & You handbook. medicare.gov

SSA.gov

Part B and IRMAA premium data, enrollment timing, Medicare-Social Security coordination. ssa.gov

NC Dept. of Insurance

NC Medigap rate filings, carrier license status, agent license verification, state-specific rules. ncdoi.gov

HealthCare.gov

ACA Marketplace plan data, subsidy eligibility rules, SEP triggers, open enrollment guidance. healthcare.gov

CMS NPI Registry

Individual physician NPI verification for network accuracy claims in county-specific content. npiregistry.cms.hhs.gov

County-specific plan data (enrollment counts, average premiums, star ratings) is sourced from CMS Medicare Advantage & Part D Landscape Source Files published for the applicable plan year. Claims about specific plan availability or network participation reflect data current as of the page’s “Last Updated” date and should be verified directly with the carrier before enrollment.

5
AI Content Disclosure

Artificial Intelligence — How We Use It and What We Don’t

GenerationHealth.me uses AI language tools (including Anthropic’s Claude) as part of our content production workflow. We are transparent about what that means in practice.

What AI is used for:

  • Drafting initial page structure and prose based on Rob’s detailed topic briefs and source data
  • Structuring complex Medicare topics — enrollment windows, plan comparisons, cost calculations — into readable, scannable formats
  • Generating FAQ sections based on real client questions Rob has documented from advisory calls
  • Schema markup generation (FAQPage, MedicalWebPage, BreadcrumbList, etc.) for structured data compliance

What AI does not do:

  • AI does not determine factual Medicare data — all cost figures, enrollment counts, premium ranges, and enrollment period dates are sourced from primary government sources and verified by Rob
  • AI does not generate county-specific health system network claims — Atrium Health, Novant Health, Duke Health, and other NC-specific network analysis reflects Rob’s practitioner knowledge and CMS carrier data
  • AI does not provide plan recommendations — all plan-specific guidance reflects Rob’s licensed advisory judgment, not AI output
  • AI output is reviewed by Rob before publication; no AI-generated content is published without expert review
AI Use Transparency Statement

We disclose AI use consistent with emerging best practices for health and financial content. AI tools assist in content production efficiency. They do not replace licensed expert review, do not determine factual claims, and do not provide recommendations. All published content reflects Rob Simm’s editorial judgment and professional responsibility.

6
Update & Review Cycle

Content Update & Review Cycle

Medicare plan data changes annually. Carrier networks, premiums, formularies, and cost-sharing parameters are updated each October for the following plan year. Our content review schedule is aligned to this cycle.

Annual review (October — November): All Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Part D pages are reviewed against the new plan-year CMS Landscape Files. Cost figures, plan counts, star ratings, and carrier network information are updated before October 15 (AEP start) where possible, and completed by December 7 (AEP close).

Triggered review: Pages are reviewed and updated outside the annual cycle when CMS releases material plan-year corrections, when a major carrier makes a significant mid-year network change (such as the UHC/WakeMed network disruption in 2025), or when a federal rule change affects coverage or enrollment periods.

Last Updated date: Each page displays the date it was most recently reviewed and updated. This date reflects the most recent substantive content review, not minor typographic corrections.

Verification Notice

Health insurance plan details — premiums, networks, formularies, cost-sharing — change annually and can change mid-year. Always verify specific plan details directly with the carrier or at Medicare.gov before making enrollment decisions. The “Last Updated” date on each page reflects when our content was last reviewed, not a guarantee of real-time accuracy.

7
Independence & Compensation

Editorial Independence & Compensation Disclosure

GenerationHealth.me is an independent licensed insurance brokerage. We are compensated by insurance carriers when clients enroll in plans through our services. This compensation is standard in the insurance industry and is paid by the carrier — not by the consumer. The plan costs the same whether you enroll through Rob, directly with a carrier, or through Medicare.gov.

What carrier compensation does not influence:

  • Which plans Rob recommends to individual clients — recommendations are based solely on fit to the client’s providers, medications, budget, and healthcare utilization
  • Plan comparison content on this site — we present all available plans in a given county or market, not just those with higher commissions
  • Factual content, cost figures, or network accuracy claims — these are sourced from primary government data, not carrier marketing materials
  • Negative information about any carrier or plan type — we disclose documented risks including network problems, premium increases, and underwriting rules even when those disclosures may reduce enrollment in higher-commission products

GenerationHealth.me does not display advertising and does not accept payment from carriers or third parties to feature specific plans in editorial content. All plan mentions in county-specific guides reflect Rob’s assessment of plans relevant to local residents, not paid placement.

CMS Compliance

All Medicare marketing activity complies with CMS Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines (MCMG). Rob completes AHIP Medicare certification annually. NC Insurance License #10447418 is active and in good standing. Verify at NCDOI.gov.

8
AEO & GEO Standards

Answer Engine & Generative Engine Standards

GenerationHealth.me is built to serve readers accurately both on Google and in AI-powered answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and similar). Our content standards for AI citation suitability include:

  • Instant Answer Blocks: Each substantive page includes a concise, direct answer to the primary question in the first 200 words — formatted for speakable extraction and AI snippet use
  • SpeakableSpecification schema: Applied to Instant Answer and FAQ sections to signal voice-search and AI-readable content to crawlers
  • Factual grounding: All claims that may be cited by AI engines are sourced from primary government data (CMS, Medicare.gov, SSA.gov, NCDOI) and include the source reference or data year
  • No hallucination surfaces: We do not publish speculative plan-specific claims, projected future premiums, or carrier contract predictions that could be cited by AI as established fact
  • Schema markup: MedicalWebPage, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, LocalBusiness, Person with credentials, ClaimReview, and SpecialAnnouncement schemas are applied consistently across all pages to support structured data extraction

Pages are designed to answer the specific question in the URL and page title with factual, sourced content that can be accurately cited by both human readers and AI language models.

Corrections

Corrections Policy

We take factual accuracy seriously. Health insurance misinformation can lead to significant financial harm — a wrong enrollment decision can cost thousands of dollars in out-of-network bills or permanent premium penalties.

If you believe any content on GenerationHealth.me contains a factual error — a wrong premium figure, an incorrect enrollment date, an inaccurate network claim, or any other verifiable inaccuracy — please contact us. We will review the claim against primary sources and correct confirmed errors promptly. Material corrections are noted on the affected page with the correction date.

Report a Correction

Contact Rob Simm directly with the page URL, the specific claim you believe is inaccurate, and any supporting source you have.
